Nieuwe versie Swyx mobile for Andriod beschikbaar versie 1.2.0

Dit weekend is de nieuwste versie van Swyx mobile voor Android toestellen beschikbaar gekomen. Is het de moeite waard om te upgraden? Ja!

Ten eerste hij is gratis, geschikt voor alle Swyx gebruikers met SwyxWare 2015 R 3.2 of hoger en Adroid 4.4 of hoger.

KPN kondigt beëindiging isdn1/2 aan

Waarschijnlijk zal een de doorgewinterde telecommer of ICT-er niet echt verast zijn met dit bericht. Toch zal je raar op kijken van de hoeveelheid ISDN aansluitingen die je nog tegenkomt bij bedrijven. Want óf alarm óf fax óf DSL of zelfs hele centrales zijn nog gekoppeld op basis van ISDN1/2 diensten.

KPN geeft aan te stoppen met zijn traditionele analoge pstn- en met de isdn1/2-diensten. Vanaf 1 september 2019 zullen de meervoudige diensten niet meer beschikbaar zijn voor klanten van KPN en KPN Wholesale.

Volgens KPN moeten klanten de komende jaren overstappen naar op breedband gebaseerde alternatieven. Het aantal gebruikers van de traditionele telefoniediensten nam volgens het bedrijf hoe dan ook al af, terwijl voip-diensten juist in populariteit toenamen.

De komende beëindiging van de dienstverlening betreft alleen meervoudige pstn en enkelvoudige en meervoudige isdn1/2. De isdn/15/20/30-diensten blijft het bedrijf nog tot ten minste 1 januari 2021 ondersteunen. Het getal geeft het aantal digitale communicatielijnen aan.

Isdn, of integrated services digital network, is een oude techniek voor digitale techniek die nog steeds door met name een deel van de bedrijven gebruikt wordt. In 2012 bedroeg het marktaandeel van isdn tien procent volgens de ACM, al zal dat inmiddels een stuk verder afgenomen zijn.

Opmerkelijk KPN stopt mogelijkheid doorverbinden op mobiel, Swyx niet!

Swyx Mobile data usage

Recent verscheen er een knowledgebase artikel van Swyx over het data verbruik van de Swyx Mobile clients. Toegegeven ik reken mij zelf tot de frequent users en haal bij lange na niet de voor gerekende hoeveelheid data verbruik. Ook niet als ik Wifi en mobiele gegevens data verbruik bij elkaar op tel. Maar het biedt in ieder geval enig houvast.
